The New England Osteopathic Heritage Center (NEOHC) honors the osteopathic physicians who served their communities in New England for over a century. The Center, established in 2003, maintains a growing collection of personal and professional materials that preserve the unique history of the osteopathic medicine profession in the New England region (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island). NEOHC collects historical material representative of individual physicians, organizations, hospitals and legislative initiatives including personal and professional documents, photographs, medical artifacts and memorabilia, building a greater understanding of the impact of osteopathic medicine on the advancement of health care in New England. The Center's staff provides research support and access to its rich collection and welcomes inquiries or visits. The Center, operating under the auspices of the University of New England, is located in the Jack S. Ketchum Library on the University's Biddeford, Maine campus. |
