Community Service One-Day: UNE of the Sea

This program takes place prior to the Traditional Campus-Based Orientation session, and will end in time for you to participate in it fully.

$30 additional cost

The Trailblazer One-Day Community Service program offers you the opportunity to participate in projects that not only connect you to the surrounding community, but provide service to our community partners. Many times the projects and sites where you  participate foster connections for future service throughout your time at UNE. The UNE of the Sea program focuses on projects that revolve around UNE’s coastal environment. You arrive one day before Traditional Orientation to participate in various theme service projects. UNE Trailblazer in the Community Guides, who are current UNE students, provide both opening and closing team building activities and time for the group to reflect and share their experiences afterwards. Guides also provide a history of the sites and work with our community partners to frame the different projects. There is time throughout the experience for you to ask the guides questions about life at UNE. Previous sites have included volunteering at the Marine Animal Research Center, beach clean-ups, fish hatcheries, and many more.
