Marine Animal Rehabilitation Center releases 4 harp seals

The University of New England's Marine Animal Rehabilitation Center (MARC) released four harp seals on May 17, 2010 that were successfully rehabilitated following the ice seal stranding season.

Two seals, known as "Hancock" and "Penobscott," were adult seals. "Androscoggin" and "Washington" were juvenile seals. They were released at Granite Point Beach in Biddeford.

With the release of these seals, MARC, which is a division of UNE's Marine Science Education and Research Center, is gearing up for the harbor seal pupping season.
