Appointment of UNECOM alum Sheila Pinette to head MCDC covered media

Sheila Pinette, D.O., a 2000 graduate of the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, has been appointed as Maine's top public health official. She will head the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention beginning May, 1, 2011. The story of her appointment was covered by the Bangor Daily News, MPBN radio, WCSH6 TV, Kennebec Journal, Portland Press Herald and Morning Sentinel on April 1st. 

Pinette completed her medical residency in 2003. She currently runs her own internal medicine practice in Cape Elizabeth.
