David Smith interviewed by an Israeli newspaper; also being filmed for Swedish TV documentary

David Livingston Smith, Ph.D., associate professor of philosophy, was interviewed by the Israeli newspaper the Globe for a column on Dec. 9, 2011 with the translated title "Research: liars do better - and humanity needs lies." Smith discussed the issue from the evolutionary point of view, similar to the theme of his 2004 book Why We Lie: The Evolutionary Roots of Deception.

Smith is also going to Israel the week of Dec. 11, to be filmed for a documentary on the prehistoric origins of war for Swedish Public Television.

Smith's most recent book is Less Than Human: Why We Demean, Enslave, and Exterminate Others, which he recently discussed on NPR's Talk of the Nation. He is also the author of  the The Most Dangerous Animal: Human Nature and the Origins of War.
