Stevenson/Bilsky laboratories publish research article on osteoarthritis pain model

Glenn Stevenson's laboratory (CAS) in collaboration with CEN Director Ed Bilsky (COM) published an original research paper on a preclinical model of osteoarthritis. The paper entitled Monosodium iodoacetate-induced osteoarthritis produces pain-depressed wheel running in rats: Implications for preclinical behavioral assessment of chronic pain, was accepted to the journal, Pharmacology Biochemistry and Behavior. The research project was performed by a number of current and former CAS undergraduates including Hannah Mercer and Chloe Adams (2008), Jim Cormier (2009), Laura Benoit (2010) and Catherine Dunbar, Justin Jezierski and Amy Luginbuhl (2011). Several of the CAS alumni are currently attending graduate school, veterinary school, or working in biomedical research laboratories.
