Olivia Hebert receives Sigma Xi Grants-in-Aid of Research grant as an undergraduate

Olivia Hebert (Medical Biology '13) has received a Sigma Xi Grants-in-Aid of Research grant for her project "The effects of ethinylestradiol on risky and boldness behavior in Siamese fighting fish, Betta splendens." These grants are designed primarily to fund graduate student projects in the sciences. Olivia is one of only a handful of undergraduates to receive funding this year.

Nine hundred thirty-one applications were received, and only 196 were funded. Olivia will carry out this project in the lab of associate professor of psychology Teresa Dzieweczynski, Ph.D., with whom she has worked for the past two years.
