Douglas Lynch selected for Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium Maine State Leadership Team

Douglas Lynch, Ph.D., professor and chair of the Education Department, has been selected for the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium Maine State Leadership Team (SLT).

Smarter Balanced is an innovative assessment system aligned with the Common Core State Standards.  Many Smarter Balanced assessments are adaptive and formative, allowing for individualized feedback and instruction focused on continuous progress.

With the SLT, Lynch will critique and advise regarding assessment products for the Smarter Balanced Digital Library.  The State Leadership Team will also participate in New England and Maine regional training sessions and deliver web-based training sessions to selected Maine teachers through the spring 2014.
