"Ecliptic to Eclectic Photography," on exhibit at Campus Center

"Ecliptic to Eclectic Photography Exhibit," a collection of photographic works by artists Wendy Bell, Joseph Barnett, and Walter Buczacz, will be on display at the University of New England's Biddeford Campus Center August 6 - August 30, 2013.

Bell grew up in rural western New York State and was drawn to Maine in the late 1970s.  A photographer since 2006, she reflects a strong connection to nature in much of her work. Bell has exhibited her photography at the Dyer Library in Saco, the Maine Photography Show in Boothbay Harbor, the Maine Arts Scene Virtual Showcase, and the Lyceum Gallery in Lewiston.  She has been recognized by international online websites such as Betterphoto.com and the Light Space and Time Art Gallery.  Bell is an active member of both the Saco Bay Artists organization in Ocean Park as well as the Kennebunk-based Maine Women in the Arts.

Barnett began selling his photographs in 1961 at the age of 19.  After completing four years in the Air Force and finishing college, he started his company in 1972 and eventually hired 15 people.  Barnett sold his photographs to almost every major department store in the United States and to some in Europe.  He makes a full-time living from his photography and has a home gallery (open by appointment) in Kennebunk.  His work has been exhibited in the E.B. Crocker Museum, the Oakland Museum, the North American Exposition, and in many private collections.  His photographs have been published in US Camera, Popular Photography, Modern Bride, Ideal Books, B&W Magazine, Studio One, Focus Magazine, and Sellers Publishing CompanyView his work.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  For more information, contact Diane Noble.
