Shark Week: Media - including CNN's Piers Morgan - take notice of James Sulikowski's research

It's Shark Week on the Discovery Channel, and that annual promotion of sharks has resulted in a number of media calls to UNE shark expert James Sulikowski, Ph.D., associate professor of marine science.

CNN's Piers Morgan Live led off the week early on Friday, Aug. 2nd, offering a shark week preview with guest Jeff Corwin, host of Ocean Mysteries, who brought in a tank of small spiny dogfish sharks that had been tagged by Sulikowski's lab. Corwin explained that "This is a shark that is actually part of an incredible research project with the University of New England in Maine." The segment also ran on CNN International Europe - U.K. National. Sulikowski had appeared in January on Corwin's show in a video about his UNE sturgeon research. View Friday's Piers Morgan video.

On Sunday morning, Aug. 4th, Sulikowski was interviewed about sharks by Mike Hogan on TSN Radio in Toronto. Listen to the interview.

On Tuesday morning, he discussed sharks on Portland's WHOM 94.9 Mornings with Sandra & Teddy.

A week earlier, Sulikowski had been interviewed by the Portland Press Herald and WMTW8 for stories on shark sightings off the coast of Wells and Boothbay Harbor.
