Brian Duff, Ph.D., chair and associate professor in the Department of Political Science, was quoted in an online CNN article on October 30, 2014.
The article, which addressed President Obama’s recent trip to Maine to support gubernatorial candidate Mike Michaud, reported Duff’s comment that Obama’s visit to the state was planned to give a wake-up call to Democrats, reminding them to get to the polls.
"There is a sense that voters just need a final push to come back into the fold," said Duff. "They are helped by the fact that the current Republican governor is not popular and has very conservative views that are out of step with the majority of Mainers."
