Jeri Fox participates in aquaculture startup panel reported in Press Herald

The Portland Press Herald published a June 18th story on a panel discussion on aquaculture startup opportunities in the marine industry in which Jeri Fox, Ph.D., UNE associate professor of aquaculture and aquarium science, participated.

Panelists noted that  Maine fish farmers report gross revenues of $100 million to $120 million annually but that 52 percent of seafood consumed by Americans is farm-raised, and nearly all of it comes from overseas. They also noted the need for talented and experienced employees and board members. Read the story.
