Erin Koepf interviewed by WGME

Erin Koepf, Pharm. D., BCACP, clinical assistant professor in the College of Pharmacy, was recently interviewed by WGME for her knowledge about regulations surrounding online purchases of the emergency contraceptive Plan B.

In the article, Koepf cautions consumers that anyone can sell emergency contraceptives on Amazon; thus, it is not necessarily a safe option. She went on to provide the name of a manufacturer that sells online directly, citing it as the safest online source since it is regulated by the FDA.

Koepf specializes in women's health and has published multiple articles on the topic. She recently participated in several list serves and groups discussing the issue of online emergency contraceptive purchases.
