Scott McNeil, OTD, M.S., OTR/L, assistant clinical professor and academic fieldwork coordinator in the University of New England’s Department of Occupational Therapy presented at the Connecticut Occupational Therapy Association (CONNOTA) conference on Saturday, March 5, 2016. 

The presentation titled, “Demystifying Fieldwork Education,” described the shortage of fieldwork rotations in New England and aross the United States as well as the many myths about fieldwork education that may serve as a barrier for occupational therapy students and prospective educators. During the interactive presentation, participants learned more about the fit between academia and the clinic, explored the components of fieldwork education and learned how research in fieldwork education is helping to shape the fieldwork landscape.
