UNE medical student Tahlia Wolfgang recognized for commitment to family medicine

Tahlia Wolfgang, M.P.H., University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine Class of 2019, has been awarded an Auxiliary American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) Osteopathic Family Medicine Student Scholarship. 

These scholarships recognize osteopathic medical students who demonstrate excellence, leadership, and community service in family medicine. They provide osteopathic medical students with money to help defray medical school and personal expenses, and affirm the recipient’s activities and outstanding leadership within the association.

Wolfgang is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and the Boston University School of Public Health. After graduate school, she went on to work in Pediatric Quality & Patient Safety at Boston Medical Center. She is a published author, and since beginning medical school has co-authored two peer-reviewed publications in Pediatrics and Hospital Pediatrics.

Tahlia is passionate about addressing health disparities in underserved patient populations by providing comprehensive and innovate primary care across the lifespan. As a second year medical student, Tahlia served as co-president of the UNE student chapter of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) organizing member recruitment, club meetings, fundraisers, guest speakers, community service opportunities and student networking events. She also served as vice president of the Public Health Club and was selected as a UNE COM Care of the Underserved Pathways Scholar and Peter Morgane Research Fellowship recipient.
