The University of New England welcomes individuals who wish to take courses toward a college degree, for personal enrichment, for teaching credential certification, for exploring degree programs, or for meeting other educational goals. Daytime, evening and weekend courses may be taken during the fall, spring and summer semesters.
Degree candidates from UNE or other institutions are encouraged to talk with their advisor or department chair to confirm that the selected course will satisfy degree requirements.
As a non-matriculated student, up to 12 credits may be accepted toward a degree within the College of Arts & Sciences and the College of Health Professions.

Tuition
Undergraduate courses - $260 per credit
Graduate courses - $485 per credit.
Auditing undergraduate course - $260 for undergraduate
Auditing graduate course - $485 for graduate.
Auditing requires permission from instructor.
Directed Study undergraduate - $550 per credit
Directed Study graduate - varies by major
Requires permission from faculty sponsor and department chair. Forms available in Registrar's office or from department chair. Student is responsible for completion of paperwork.
Payment
Payment for courses/workshops must be submitted in full by cash, check, money order, Master Card/VISA/Discover at the time of registration. Students may also a) provide a Purchase Order from the authorized representative of the company paying for the course, or b) provide documentation of the company's policy to reimburse tuition costs for employees.
Prerequisites
Please be advised that many of the courses have prerequisites and proof of required coursework must be submitted with registration. An unofficial transcript is sufficient. Please refer to the catalog for course descriptions and prerequisites, or call (207) 602-2050 for more information.
Add/Drop/Withdrawal Refunds
Add/Drop Period: August 15 - September 9, 2008
Drop/Withdrawal/Refunds: The last day to drop a course for full tuition refund is September 9, 2008. Students who intend to drop/withdraw from a credit course must notify the Office of Continuing Education in writing - verbal notice is not sufficient. Email Trisha Mason to drop/withdraw from a course.
Written drop requests must be submitted to and received by the Office of Continuing Education by September 9, 2008 to receive a full tuition refund.
Refunds are calculated from the date UNE receives written notification.
Registration fee ($10) and lab fees (variable) are nonrefundable.

Course Cancellations
If UNE cancels the course for any reason, students will receive a full refund, including all fees. Courses with low enrollment may be subject to cancellation. The student should attend the first class unless otherwise notified by the Office of Continuing Education.
