Dr. Hanf was born in Elizabeth, NJ. He graduated from Ursinus College with a B.S. in Biological Science. He subsequently graduated from UMDNJ, now Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. He is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry.
In his first year upon graduating, Dr. Hanf was a full-time Clinical Instructor in a T.E.A.M. (Training in Expanded Auxiliary Management) program at UMDNJ. He then served as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in Oral Diagnosis, Radiology, and Emergent Care two days per week for many years while he was raising his family and growing a general dentistry practice in Vernon, NJ.
In 1998, Dr. Hanf relocated to Scottsdale, AZ. He practiced at McDowell Mountain Ranch in Scottsdale and served as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at both Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine and A.T. Still University Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. He also served as a consultant dentist for the Arizona Board of Dental Examiners, evaluating board complaints.
In 2014, Dr. Hanf accepted a position as Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Florida AEGD (Advanced Education in General Dentistry) program for internationally trained dentists in Hialeah, FL. In 2017, Dr. Hanf was pleased to join the faculty at the University of New England College of Dental Medicine and return to the northeast.
Dr. Hanf and his wife live in the Sebago Lake area. They have four grown children (two sons and two daughters), four granddaughters, and 1 grandson.
