Currently, Leslie is the SNAP-Ed Obesity Prevention Coordinator within the Center for Excellence in Health Innovation. Her work on the SNAP-Ed grant includes overseeing the training and implementation of policy, systems, and environmental related to nutrition for low-income families in Maine. In addition, Leslie assists in coordinating the social marketing initiatives of the grant including both print and online marketing. She is responsible for exploring and implementing new technology strategies to streamline processes for communication, data entry, among other program necessities. Lastly, Leslie connects with other SNAP-Ed implementing agencies across the U.S. to identify new initiatives and opportunities, keeping Maine's program current as well as continuing with evidence-based strategies.
Leslie is the instructor for the nutrition course: Fundamentals of Healthy Cooking. In this course, students learn basic skills necessary to prepare nutritious meals with emphasis on food safety, cooking techniques, and meal planning.
