Marylin Newell, Ph.D.

Dr. Newell has been teaching online with UNE since 2009 with a focus on research in the Master of Education and Doctor of Education programs. She also serves as a dissertation lead advisor. A retired college president with over 25 years of experience in higher education teaching and administration, Dr. Newell began her career as a faculty member and held several administrative positions including Academic Dean, Campus Director, VP of Academics, and College President/CEO. She is the founder of College Matters, a private firm that consults with colleges and universities on various aspects of institutional operations and facilitates professional development workshops for higher education and a variety of local industries.

Dr. Newell holds a Ph.D. in Organization and Management from Capella University, a Master of Adult Education/Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in English, both from the University of Southern Maine.
