Sarah M. Smith

Dr. Sarah Smith graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences, Boston. After graduation, Dr. Smith worked as a community pharmacist for three years before deciding to pursue a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency.  After completing her residency at the VA Maine Healthcare System in Augusta, Dr. Smith joined the UNE College of Pharmacy. She currently teaches in all 3 years of the PharmD curriculum, including instructor roles in Introduction to Pharmacy Practice, Patient Assessment, Self-Care Therapeutics and Therapeutics II and III. She also takes advanced students on clinical rotation at the VA primary care clinic in Lewiston.  Dr. Smith's academic interests include diabetes, chronic disease management, geriatrics and rural health.
