Douglas Kay, Ph.D.
Executive Associate Dean
Douglas Kay worked with Dr. Cormier as a consultant and has now joined the College of Pharmacy as executive associate dean. Dr. Kay completed his baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral studies at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston. Curt Cyr, Ph.D., R.Ph.

Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences
Curt Cyr's primary focus at UNE will be teaching biochemistry and pharmacology, developing the curriculum with the help of other faculty members, and in conjunction with Dean Cormier, managing student services and admissions. Dr. Cyr is author of several publications based on his research work in reputable and peer review journals. He has served on the Executive Board for the Maine Pharmacy Association as treasurer and has been a practicing pharmacist in the State of Maine for more than 20 years. More ...
Peg Donovan
Executive Assistant to the Dean
Peg Donovan is the executive assistant to the dean and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the main office, managing the College's budget, supervising the administrative staff, and in the future assisting with student services. She is a native of Rhode Island and a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University with a B.S. in business management. She has been a UNE employee for six years and previously worked for the Division of Student Affairs. In 2007 Donovan was honored to have UNE's graduating class dedicate the yearbook to her for her service to the class. She is interested in conservation and the environment and loves biking, walking the beach and gardening. She and her husband, Ray, have two kids, Jake and Shae, and lives in Kennebunk.

James Krebs, Pharm.D.
Director of Pharmacy Experiential Programs
James Krebs received his bachelor of science in pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University in 1994 and a doctor of pharmacy degree from the University of Rhode Island in 2001. Dr. Krebs’ diverse career includes practice in long-term care, community, and hospital settings in the U.S. and abroad. Most recently he held a management position with Walgreens. At UNE, Dr. Krebs will travel throughout Maine to gather information about potential experiential training sites. Lynn Kopack
Administrative Assistant
Lynn Kopack has recently been appointed to the position of administrative assistant in the Office of Experiential Education. Lynn is responsible for communication with preceptors and students, coordinating pharmacy practice experience schedules and assisting the director with all aspects of the operation of the office. Lynn was born and raised in Maine and earned a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from the University of Maine, Orono. Before joining the college team, she worked for 20 years with the law firm Robinson, Kriger & McCallum in Portland, Maine. She and her husband, Robert like to spend time with family; and Lynn enjoys the beach, biking and reading in her spare time.

Roberta Barber has been the director of pharmacy at Maine Medical Center since 2004 and is responsible for comprehensive pharmacy services for all three campuses: Bramhall, Scarborough, Brighton and numerous outpatient clinics throughout the Greater Portland Area and Southern Maine. She has led management/supervisory and clinical teams to meet organizational needs and to ensure compliance with Joint Commission Medication Management standards and state regulations at all sites. John Schloss, Ph.D.

Between 2000-03, John Schloss helped to build a new pharmacy program as part of Kuwait University’s Health Sciences Center and served as chair of Pharmaceutical Chemistry. In 2002, he helped to found ThioPharma, Inc., in San Diego, which licensed its drug delivery technology to Cenomed Biosciences in 2007. While helping to establish ThioPharma, Dr. Schloss also conducted pharmaceutics research at NeuroSystec Corporation in Valencia, California, 2004-08. More ...
