Mission 

The Department is dedicated to excellence in research, teaching, and service to the community, State of Maine, and public, private, and commercial institutions. 

In providing the basic science component of the professional pharmacy program, we strive to instill critical thinking, depth of understanding, a professional outlook, and a deep sense of integrity in our offerings.  In achieving our research goals, we try to balance between discovery and development.  

Whether our research involves basic research or applied development of new technologies, we conduct our activities in strict compliance with all regulations and with an unquestionable sense of ethics. 

About the Department

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is committed to providing students with a quality experience in basic and applied research.

Disciplines represented within the Department include physiology, pharmacology, pharmaceutics, and medicinal, biological, pharmaceutical, and computational chemistry.
