UNE Condemns Violence in Charlottesville and Barcelona

August 18, 2017

"As we reflect on the recent events in Charlottesville and Barcelona, we extend our thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families. The University of New England stands with the people of Charlottesville, Barcelona and elsewhere in opposition of those espousing hateful ideology and bent on the destruction of such core Western values as life, liberty, inclusivity and equality. As our students return to campus, we look forward to engaging in the important work of discerning how our community can help ensure that the values we deeply cherish are extended to everyone."  — President James Herbert
