Student Association for Public Health
UNE’s Student Association for Public Health was started by MPH students who wished to open the lines of communication between teachers and students at UNE and to participate in the development of this new program.
We wanted a vehicle for communicating concerns with and recommendations about the Public Health curriculum at UNE. SAPH was created to be the voice of the students and we hope that you will speak up, because this is your program.
Composition
This organization was formed as an online student organization in the 2009-10 academic year. All students accepted into the Graduate Programs in Public Health are automatically granted membership in this online organization. The President of SAPH or his/her appointed representative is an invited member of the GPPH Advisory Committee, GPPH Program/Faculty Meeting, and GPPH Curriculum Committee. Students are encouraged to forward discussion points to the President and other students on these committees for consideration. Comments and suggestions can also be forwarded directly to the Program Director, Dr. Denise Bisaillon (dbisaillon@une.edu).
Resources and Meeting Schedule
SAPH meetings will be conducted online and recorded, at the direction of the President, using the free web-conferencing and collaboration tool available through UNE called Blackboard Collaborate. A perpetual meeting room is available for members to use year-round. All participants entering the UNE Student Association for Public Health room will be granted participant access.
The President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Councilor are granted full moderator privileges to run meetings.
