Preparing for Online Registration

In order to make the most of your online registration experience, be sure to complete the following tasks before you begin:

Check your Registration Status and Registration Time-Ticket

To do this, login to U-Online, select Student Services and Financial Aid; then Registration; then Check Your Registration Status. Select the desired term and submit.

This page will display the dates and times you are eligible to register over the web.  Take note of your time-ticket and plan your advising and registration session accordingly.  Please Note: All Undergraduates are required to meet with their advisor prior to registration to obtain their Alternate Pin.  You will need your Alternate Pin to access registration initially.

Also, listed with your time ticket is other status items that could block you from registration or restrict the courses you are allowed to select:

Holds

Students with administrative holds will not be permitted to register until holds are cleared. You may be blocked from registration by the following holds:

Major/Minor Information

Some courses are restricted by major.  It is essential for students to apply for any changes to their major or minor prior to web registration to avoid being blocked, unnecessarily, from courses.

The following options are available by filing out the pdf form provided.  Forms are also available for pick up in Registration Services at Decary 114 or Hersey 119.

Review Your Course Work and Transfer Credit to Date

To obtain an unofficial copy of your transcript that lists all of your courses taken at UNE and any transfer credit taken elsewhere, login to U-Online, select Student Services and Financial Aid; then Student Records; then Academic Transcript. Select All Levels and Unofficial for type and submit.

Administratively Preregistered Course Sections - In order to assist you with course selection, in some instances you may have been administratively preregistered in certain courses required for your major. These courses appear at the bottom of your transcript as in progress. This was done in collaboration with your Department Chair and Dean's Office.

Prerequisite Checking -Automatic prerequisite checking will be turned on during web registration. This means that you will be blocked from registering for any course for which you are missing the prerequisites. Check your past course work to make sure you have met the prerequisites of the courses you need to take. Prerequisite information is found in the course description of each course in the catalog. You can view the prerequisites online by clicking on the CRN of any course in the course offerings list and then selecting the course Title.

If you are currently enrolled in a course (but have not completed it) that will serve as a prerequisite for a course you need to take, U-Online will allow you to conditionally register for the course.  If you do not complete said prerequisite course successfully, you will be removed from the course you anticipated on taking.

Transfer Credit - Prerequisites are checked against all the courses listed on your transcript, including transfer credit. Registration Services is currently entering transfer credit by course for all new transfers. If you will be taking courses with prerequisites and those prerequisites have been transferred in, make sure they are listed on your UNE transcript. If they are missing, contact Registration Services before you go online to register.
