Research Projects

The University of New England/Spurwink Center for Research is currently engaged in developing the following collaborative projects:

  Studies of the impact of poverty, low socio-economic status, and adverse childhood experiences on chronic disease and mortality.
     
  Studies of the impact of poverty, low socio-economic status, and adverse childhood experiences on smoking in pregnant teens.
     
  A study of the "high cost/heavy user" of mental health services, and the design of an alternative intervention for this population.
     
  A study of smoking and co-morbidities among the chronically mentally ill, including the development of smoking cessation and treatment interventions in a community-based mental health center. For more information.

  Conducting outcomes-based evaluations of assistive technology training programs.
