Annual Fall Leadership Retreat

Fall 2007 Leadership Retreatimage:  September 28-30

Applications available beginning September 8th at the Involvement Fair.  Applications may be picked up at the Fair and the Student Involvement Office in the Campus Center.  Applications are due to the Student Involvement Office on September 19th.

Every fall, the Leader Scholars work with the Office of Student Activities to plan and coordinate the Fall Leadership Retreat. This retreat offers students who apply the opportunity to spend some time developing group and individual leadership skills while getting to know a group of students, many of whom they have never met, through a weekend-long series of workshops, team-builders, and ropes course activities.

imageThe theme for each year is determined by the leader scholars and may focus on any of a number of leadership issues or skills. Past retreat themes include "Be Like Water," and "Peel and Reveal."

Past retreats have been housed at Sargent Camp in New Hampshire. Students sleep in a rustic cabin and, throughout the days, participate in teambuilding and leadership initiatives, including a first-class ropes course, administrated by Sargent Camp staff. Students are given the opportunity to explore their own potential, while learning about other students and having fun. The retreat is highly anticipated by returning students.
