Apply for Housing and a Meal Plan
Not sure what to pack in the fall? Check out this helpful list (and be sure to coordinate with your roommate so you don’t end up with duplicates!):

Housing

At UNE, residence hall living is an important aspect of the entire University experience, and therefore there is a three-year residency requirement for full-time undergraduate students. Beginning on Experience UNE Days, deposited students will have the opportunity to complete a Housing and Dining Service Application and Contract. On that contract you can specify your residence hall and roommate preferences. If you are seeking an exception to the residency requirement, you will need to complete an Off Campus Request Form.

To find out more, visit our website. If you have questions, please contact the Office of Residential Education and Housing at housing-office@une.edu or (207) 602-2272.

Meal Plan

A standard meal plan is assigned to all residential students. The plan includes a set number of meals per week in our dining hall and a certain amount of flexible spending money. The flexible spending money, referred to as Nor’easter Dollars, is automatically loaded onto your student ID and is available to use at the Windward Café, Alfond Café, The Hang and in select restaurants in the area such as Panera. If you like, you can change your meal plan during the beginning of the semester when you arrive for classes.

For more information about the dining facilities and details on meal plans and options please visit our website.

Choose A Way to Get Around
Worried about getting around while on campus? Don’t be! The following options are available to first-year students at UNE:
Regardless of which of the option you choose, we have the Nor'Easter Shuttle that runs through campus every half hour. The Nor'Easter Shuttle runs from UNE to the local train station in Saco to the charming downtowns of Biddeford & Saco and to Biddeford Crossing where you can find a variety of restaurants and shops. The Nor'Easter Shuttle is free to use with your student ID and runs seven days a week. Check out the schedule in our Campus Center Lobby when you arrive on campus or visit our website.

Zipcar

UNE has two Zipcars that can be rented online by the hour. First-year residential students over the age of 18 who opt not to bring a car to campus and become ZipCar members, receive an electronic gift card for free hours of use (after you register online and pay a small fee). After you become a member, contact UNE Safety and Security for your free hours.  The Zipcar program is accessible to all UNE students, whether you bring a car or not. For more information and details on the costs of the Zipcar program go to: www.zipcar.com/une.

Bike

A select number of students will receive a free bicycle, lock and a helmet. This bike is yours to keep, even after you graduate! We have bike racks across campus as well as options for storage during the winter months.

Parking Permit

You are able to bring a car your first year if you choose not to take the Zipcar hours or the free bike.
