Nor'easters Strength & Conditioning
The University of New England Strength and Conditioning Staff is dedicated to educate and assist with the development of the University’s student-athletes. Our goal is to reduce the risk of injury for our athletes, while simultaneously increasing strength and confidence. Our programs will incorporate the latest and most practical training techniques to help improve athletic performance. Through hard work and dedication, we hope to instill values that will help our students reach their highest potential in both sport and life.

Strength & Conditioning Staff
Patrick McCarthy BS, CSCS
Patrick joined the University of New England staff in the fall of 2007. Prior to starting at UNE, he worked for four years as a Strength and Conditioning Coach and Personal Trainer at Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning in Winchester, Mass. While at MBSC, Patrick worked with a wide variety of clients and athletes ranging from middle school children to professional athletes.
Patrick is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine, where he attained a bachelor’s degree in health and fitness and also played for the baseball team. He is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength & Conditioning Association.
Meg Ladd BS, CSCS, NSCA-CPT, HFI
Meg Ladd has been at the University of New England working as a Fitness Specialist since graduating in 2006. She works with a variety of populations including student athletes, students, faculty/staff and community members. Meg is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist and Certified Personal Trainer both through National Strength & Conditioning Association, as well as an American College of Sports Medicine Health/Fitness Instructor.
Cassie Aiello, BS, AFAA, ACSM-CPT
Cassie has been with the University of New England since 2005 as a Fitness Specialist and Children's Programs Coordinator, working with all populations. She graduated from Springfield College in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Exercise Science. Cassie is a Certified Group Exercise Instructor through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America as well as an American College of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer.

Student Fitness Challenge
The student fitness challenge is an inter-class competition. The competition follows the academic semesters and runs for 12 weeks. Each undergraduate class competes to accumulate the most minutes of exercise over the course of the semester and are awarded prizes at the end based on the outcome. Students must accumulate 120 minutes per week for the duration of the compeition to be awarded a prize.

2nd Place: Custom Tee-Shirts
3rd & 4th Place: Custom Water Bottles
