Westbrook College Campus Students

Career Services are available to all UNE Students on the Westbrook College Campus.  Each year there are tasks that can be accomplished so that by the time you graduate, you will be ready to begin your professional career. 

The College of Health Profession has a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs which may take two, three, or four years to complete.  The following guide is for students who have chosen a four year degree program.  However, if your degree will be completed in two to three years, you should plan accordingly.

Some of the things you can do include:

First Year

  1. Identify interests, skills and values (self-assessment)
  2. Commit to a major and evaluate your decision regarding your major
  3. Become aware of campus and community resources

Second Year

  1. Begin getting career relevant experience through clinical experience
  2. Explore career options
  3. Research opportunities within your chosen field
  4. Engage in meaningful extracurricular/volunteer activities

Third Year

  1. Continue exploring career options
  2. Develop contacts with people in your field of interest
  3. Apply to graduate/medical schools, if attending

Final Year

  1. Learn how to conduct a professional job search
  2. Clarify career objectives
  3. Contact references
  4. Actively job search
