Checklist for Students


Step 1
Complete petition to graduate. Click here to download the form.

Return the form to the Registrar’s Office (114 Decary Hall, UC) or (Student Registration and Financial Services, 108 Hersey Hall, WCC).

Step 2
Pick up your invitations in Student Affairs (Available just prior to Spring Break)

If you are on campus, please pick up your invitations in person:

  • University Campus Undergraduate and Graduate Students: 129 Decary Hall
  • Westbrook College Campus Undergraduate and Graduate Students: Student Affairs Hersey Hall
  • College of Osteopathic Medicine (June 7, 2008): invitations will be mailed or visit 127 Stella Maris
  • Master of Science in Education: invitations will be mailed upon request

CAS and CHP students who are away from campus, please contact the appropriate Student Affairs Office:  CAS:  (207) 602-2372 and CHP: (207) 221-4212.

For COM students: Invitations will be mailed to all graduating students. If you need additional invitations, please email us at comsa@une.edu.

Step 3
Families will receive a packet of information concerning graduation in early April.
Be sure to complete and return any necessary forms or RSVP to receptions/events.

Step 4
Order Regalia (Regalia will be available in the bookstore and on the web in early April.)  Regalia MUST be purchased by end of April to ensure that students will have what they need for the Commencement ceremonies.

Step 5
Make hotel reservation for family. Click here to view the list of hotels.
We strongly encourage early reservations. Other events are happening in Portland on the same weekend as our graduation ceremony.

Step 6
Complete and return Disability Access Request if someone in your party needs accomodations. Click here to download the form.  May 2nd deadline.

Step 7
Directions to campuses and Portland Civic Center. Click here to view directions to the University’s campuses. Click here to view directions to the graduation sites.

Step 8
Contact Career Services for assistance with your current job search and save their contact information for any future job searches. 

Step 9
Attend a Student Loan Exit Interview

  • University Campus Undergraduates Students April 21 and 24 in the Campus Center Multipurpose Rooms
  • Dental Hygiene Associate Degrees,  Friday, April 25  from 11 am to Noon, Coleman lower level
  • Nursing Bachelor Degrees, Thursday, April 17 from Noon  to 1 pm, Blewett 107
  • Tentative-  Nursing Associate Degrees,  Wednesday, April 16, 12:30 pm  to 1:30 pm., Blewett  6

Please note these dates and times, and try to arrive promptly.
