"Queer Maine - Documentary and Discussion: An Examination of How Queer Assimilationists and Radicals Interact and Coexist Together in the State of Maine"

Brandon Hotham, a third year Psychology/English double major and student leader at UNE, will share his independent research project and video documentary involving a series of interviews that examines how two queer identified groups (within the LGBTQQI community), queer assimilationists and queer radicals, interact politically and socially in the state of Maine. His research involves background in psychological theory, literature representation, and various documentary styles.

The Out & Allied Project
"Out and Allied: Reader’s Theater & LGBTQA Health Care Panel"

The Out & Allied Project, a dynamic program through Add Verb Productions, focuses on teen written and performed pieces on queer and allied issues. Add Verb Productions has published The Out & Allied Anthology which includes short plays, spoken word, and poetry that address issues of cultivating allies among queer and questioning youth.

Reanae McNeal will discuss the trauma of standards of beauty imposed on women as she explores the dynamics of colorism, hair, physical features, and size. Through this thought-provoking and inspirational performance lecture, Ms. McNeal will examine the inner and outer beauty of women while opening up a deeper understanding of body image. Her lecture is interwoven with poetry, stories and song as she invites students to a deeper awareness of their own value and beauty in a diverse world.
