Appointments
Patients are seen by appointment only. We are not a walk-in-clinic. Immediate concerns are discussed first by phone with the triage nurse. If an appointment is needed, we will schedule the first available appointment.
All routine visits should be scheduled with your child’s primary provider several weeks in advance in order to receive a time slot that best fits your needs. When you have an appointment for a well-child checkup, an illness or a concern, it is important that you arrive a few minutes before your appointment so we may update your information. A late arrival may result in rescheduling your child’s appointment. If you cannot keep your appointment, a 24-hour notice of cancellation is appreciated and improves the providers’ scheduling. Repeated missed appointments will be documented and may result in being discharged from our practice.

After Hours
It is important that you call the office during our regular business hours. However, if your child becomes ill or you have an urgent question that cannot wait until the office opens, we provide an answering service as well as a triage service to help determine the best approach to your concerns. A provider is on call after the office has closed. If you need to speak with a provider, the triage service will page the on-call provider. We share after hours and weekend coverage with Bayview Pediatrics at Forest Falls Drive located in Yarmouth, Maine 04096. If your child needs to be seen when they are on-call, you will be asked to drive to their location in Yarmouth.
Medical Records
When you need a referral to a specialist, a copy of your medical record is sent free of charge and does not require a release form. All camp, school and other related medical forms often take up to five days for a provider to review and sign. In order to obtain a providers’ signature, the child is required to have had a physical within the previous twelve months. If you transfer your care from our office to another office the parent or legal guardian must complete a medical release form. Normal processing time is one to two weeks. The first copy is free of charge. You will be charged if you require additional copies.
Prescriptions
All requests for prescription refills should be called into the office at least 24 hours in advance. We call the pharmacy at the end of the day for all refills. Prescriptions will be called into the pharmacy at the time of a visit if requested by the provider. Controlled medications also require at least 24-hour notice in order for the primary care provider to review the patient’s chart.
