Student trustee-elects: Two students to take the reins next year
![]() |
| Owen Lennon |
The intent of adding students to the Board of Trustees starting seven years ago was to provide enhanced student perspective to the Board and to facilitate interactions between and within each campus. In order to accomplish this goal, Tim and Owen will receive training from the two current student trustees, Blake Wylie (UC student trustee; 2nd year medical student) and Meghan Rosenberg (WCC student trustee; 5th year occupational therapy student at WCC), for the remainder of the year to help smooth their progression into the role of student trustee.
Tim is currently a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences on the UC, majoring in sport management with a minor in business administration. He has held many positions including senior resident sssistant, assistant to the director of recreational sports at UNE, a USG representative, and student activities intern. He is a member of Alpha Chi National Honor Society.
Owen Lennon is currently enrolled in the doctor of physical therapy (DPT) program in the College of Health Professions on the WCC. Owen’s record on the UC consisted of six dean's list semesters, graduation with summa cum laude honors, and captain of the varsity golf team. He was honored with the Scholar Athlete Award in three consecutive seasons. He has also served as GSG treasurer for the 2004-2005 academic year.
The UNE Community welcomes and congratulates Student Trustee-Elects Owen Lennon and Tim St. John and for their accomplishments, and thanks the current Student Trustees Blake Wylie and Meghan Rosenberg for their continued efforts on behalf of all students here at the University of New England.
The student is ...
The most important person on the campus. Without students there would be no need for the institution.
Not a cold enrollment statistic, but a flesh-and-blood human being with feelings and emotions like our own.
Not someone to be tolerated so that we can do our thing. They are our thing.
Not dependent on us. Rather, we are dependent on them.
Not an interruption of our work, but the purpose of it. We are not doing them a favor by serving them. They are doing us a favor by giving us the opportunity to do so.
