An opening reception will take place Thursday, July 13 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., and a conversation with the artist will be held Friday, July 14 from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. Both are free and open to the public.

Jason Berger, a Massachusetts native now living and painting in Portugal, gives us form and gesture, color and light. Whether landscapes or interiors, figurative or abstract, they evoke Matisse, Leger, Van Gogh, Picasso, and more. His body of work, however, is unique - the "direct vision" of Jason Berger himself. Possessing both a lyrical harmony and bold emotion, these works form a perfect exhibition for a summer in Maine.

[Please note: The exhibition, "Jason Berger: The Color of Life"  will run concurrently at the Jameson Modern gallery at 305 Commercial Street, Portland, Maine 04101 from July 13 to September 10, 2006.
