UNE to host Candlelighting Celebration featuring Jen Kearney and the Lost Onion Dec. 7th

PORTLAND, Maine  - The University of New England will host its annual Candlelighting Celebration beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2006 in Ludcke Auditorium on the Westbrook College Campus, 716 Stevens Ave. in Portland.

A dessert reception will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed at 7:00 p.m. with performances featuring the Massachusetts-based band, Jen Kearney and the Lost Onion. A tree lighting on the green will conclude the evening. All events are free and open to the public.

Jen Kearney and the Lost Onion
The Lost Onion is a group of Boston area musicians who have been working the New England music scene for the past decade. Their music fuses together Latin, R&B, rock, jazz, reggae, blues and funk inspirations. Many musicians have played with the Lost Onion, but the band's permanent roster is comprised of Kearney, who plays piano, guitar and is the lead singer, followed by band members Pete MacLean (drums), Brian Coakley (bass and vocals), Corey B. (trombone), Henley Douglas, Jr. (saxophone) and Yahuba Garcia (Latin percussion and vocals).  For more information visit www.jenkearney.com.
