Mother Daughter artists:

Diane Carbone lives in Portland, Maine, and paints landscapes and nature scenes from her garden and images along Maine's coast and inland waters, including Damariscotta Lake, where she has spent time in her cottage for the last 25 summers. Carbone commented that she loves to capture the region's natural beauty, "a lady slipper on the woodland floor, a flower garden in full bloom or the breathtaking reflection of the fading sun on the water and sky."

Emilia Carbone grew up in Portland, Maine and received her bachelor’s degree from Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts. She also attended Studio Arts Centers International in Florence, Italy. She is a member of the Waltham Mills Artists' Association, in Waltham, Massachusetts.  When she is not working in her in studio she is teaching young children at a local organic farm. Her favorite quote is from Edward Hopper, "If I could say it in words there would be no reason to paint."
