Democratic candidates for Maine's 1st Congressional seat to debate at UNE Nov. 14

PORTLAND, Maine - The five Democratic candidates vying for Maine's 1st Congressional District seat will debate at the University of New England in a forum hosted by the University's School of Social Work from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007 in the College of Health Professions Lecture Hall at UNE's Westbrook College Campus in Portland.

The five candidates are Michael Brennan, Adam Cote, Mark Lawrence, Chellie Pingree, and Ethan Strimling. The debate was arranged as part of a Social Welfare Policy class being taught by Professor Thomas McLaughlin, Ph.D. UNE social work graduate student Katherine Kemp will moderate the debate where candidates will be asked to share their views about energy, housing, education, health care and job creation in the state of Maine.
