President of the Population Institute to Speak at UNE March 30thWerner Fornos, president of the Population Institute, will address "Gaining People, Losing Ground" at a lecture at the University of New England beginning at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 in the St. Francis Room of the Ketchum Library, on the University Campus in Biddeford.
The lecture is free and open to the public.
The Population Institute is a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit public interest group. Fornos is one of the country's foremost spokespersons on global population issues. He won the 2003 United Nations Population Award.
The program is sponsored by UNE's Department of Sociology, chaired by Samuel McReynolds, Ph.D.
