Nobel Peace Prize nominee to discuss women's role in re-making the world
V. Mohini Giri, Ph.D., Nobel Peace Prize nominee, will discuss "Women Re-Making the World " on Thursday, October 27th, at 6 p.m. in the St. Francis Room of the Ketchum Library on the University of New England campus in Biddeford.
Her lecture is free and open to the public. Coffee and dessert will be served.
Dr. Giri's lecture will focus on her work for the Guild of Service, a social service organization providing housing, vocational training, and other support for widows in India. She will also discuss her experience organizing women survivors of the Tsunami.
The talk is co-sponsored by UNE's Women's Studies Program and Office of Multicultural Services, as well as by GriefandRenewal.com.
