UNE hosts town hall meeting with gubernatorial candidates Oct. 19th
Candidates for the State of Maine Governor's office will square off at Ludcke Auditorium on the Westbrook College Campus of the University of New England, located at 716 Stevens Avenue in Portland on Thursday, October 19.
The event, free and open to the public, begins at 6:30 p.m. with a chance to meet the candidates and will continue with a public forum from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Candidates John Baldacci (D), Pat LaMarche (G) and Barbara Merrill (I) will appear at this town hall meeting, sponsored by the Portland branch of the NAACP. Chandler Woodcock (R) declined the invitation to participate. The town hall meeting format will consist of questions taken from the audience regarding any issues surrounding our community and state, including issues of diversity.
