UNE President Danielle Ripich is featured speaker at "Invention to Venture" workshop Nov. 30th

PORTLAND, Maine - University of New England President Danielle N. Ripich is a keynote speaker at the "Invention to Venture" workshop in technology and entrepreneurship that will take place Nov. 30, 2006 at the CHP Lecture Hall on the University of New England's Westbrook College Campus.

The "I2V Maine" is hosted by the Center for Law and Innovation at the University of Maine School of Law, along with the University of Southern Maine and the National Collegiate Inventors & Innovators Alliance.

The workshop, which will run from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., is an introduction to the process and practice of technology entrepreneurship. As with all I2V events, the goal is to engage a wide range of participants from the university community, including science and technology students and faculty as well as members of the surrounding business community. I2V provides an opportunity for regional and national businesses to engage with technology entrepreneurs at top colleges and universities, and to meet with potential investors.

President Ripich's Address
President Ripich during the lunchtime keynote will present her plans to engage UNE faculty and students in entrepreneurial activities and describe her vision for UNE’s future innovation opportunities, including a new College of Pharmacy with its significant research component and collaborative research initiative to investigate the relationship between the ocean and human health.
