'The Power of Color' on display at UNE's Campus Center and Stella Maris Hall

"The Power of Color," a collection of work by Kennebunk artist Ann Legg will be on display at the University of New England's Campus Center and Stella Maris Hall on the University Campus in Biddeford, September 9 through October 12.

Both galleries are free and open to the public.

Legg uses saturated color and strong contrast to capture the spirit and vitality of people, animals and flowers. Her works, done in a variety of mediums including oils, watercolors and acrylics, highlight a wide range of subject matter such as Africans, still lifes and abstracts.

Legg's work is widely acclaimed and has won many juried exhibitions, invitationals and awards including Best in Show for the 2006 Arts Guild of the Kennebunks Spring Exhibition, the Dick Blick Award at the 2005 National Juried Pastel Painters of Maine Exhibition and Best in Show at the 2004 Maine Women in the Arts Annual Awards Exhibit.

The Campus Center Gallery is open 6:00 a.m. -  8:00 p.m., daily. Stella Maris Hall is open from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., daily.
