Marine Science Center now has guides available for Friday-Sunday tours

Guides are now available on a limited schedule at the Marine Science Education and Research Center at the University of New England in Biddeford to conduct tours.

A seal at the Marine Science Center's Marine Animal Rehabilitation CenterThe public is invited to see recovering seals, sea turtles and porpoises – and the rest of the teaching and research facility – between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Tours are restricted to the second-floor viewing areas, which provide good vantage points to see the marine animals in their pens/pools and to see the teaching and research labs in operation.

The guides or docents are Marine Science Center volunteers involved with the Center’s educational programs.

No reservations are required. Guests must park in the lot across the street from the Center’s driveway entrance, or in the Campus Center parking lot.

UNE’s Marine Science Center is the only facility of its kind on any university campus, combining education, research and marine animal rehabilitation.
