UNE's 'Project Sleep-Out' to benefit Preble Street Shelters Oct. 27th

University of New England students will participate in "Project Sleep-Out" to benefit the Preble Street Shelters in Portland, Friday, Oct. 27, 2006 from 8:00 p.m. until dawn on the Alexander Hall Lawn, Westbrook College Campus in Portland.

Participants in this fund-raising event will create boxes to sleep in, each with a unique theme, in order to raise awareness of homelessness in the community and generate donations for the Preble Street Centers.

Set-up of the boxes will begin at 3:00 p.m., and at 8:00 p.m., there will be a showing of With Honors, a 1994 movie with a lighter look at the interaction between a student and a homeless man, on Alexander lawn. Hot chocolate, smores, games and more will be available during the night.
