Seeds of Peace camp director to discuss program Feb. 22nd
Seeds of Peace Camp Director Tim Wilson, will speak about the world-famous camp, located in Otisfield, Maine, at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006 in Alfond 205 at the University of New England in Biddeford.
This lecture, free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Campus Diversity Club and the Emerging Leaders Program.
Seeds of Peace is an internationally known group dedicated to empowering young leaders from regions of conflict with the leadership skills required to advance reconciliation and coexistence. Since its inception, more than 2,500 teens from 25 nations have graduated from the program. Its young leaders come from four conflict regions including the Middle East, South Asia, Cyprus and the Balkans.
The Seeds of Peace program allows its participants to develop empathy, respect and confidence while learning about leadership, communication and negotiation skills, which are essential tools for promoting a peaceful coexistence for the next generation.
Tim Wilson will also be the keynote speaker for the Emerging Leaders Program banquet on February 22, 2006 at 6 p.m. This event is not open to the public.
