The University of New England's public website at http://www.une.edu is both a marketing and information tool for the University.

Current national statistics indicate that most prospective students make their first encounter with a university through a university's website. Because first impressions are critically important in this medium, it is essential that our website be attractive and readable and that it reflects a unified image of the University and the University's standards of excellence.

Because our website is a source of information for our students, staff, faculty, alumni and friends, it is important that the information they are seeking can be easily found and comprehended.

The University's web style guidelines and templates are designed to accomplish these marketing and information goals. A consistent approach to titles, headlines, subheads, text type and tables aids readers in navigating through a complex set of web pages and projects a unified, professional image of the University.
