B.S. Completion Program

A U N E dental hygiene student feels a patient's glands while an instructor and fellow student look onIf you already hold an associate’s degree in dental hygiene, this program enables you to earn a bachelor’s degree. Through the program, you enhance your knowledge and skills in preparation for a broader range of careers or continued study in dental hygiene, community health, health administration, research, or education.

You build upon the knowledge you already have through a core curriculum in the arts and sciences and through upper division courses in dental hygiene, management, health care, science and psychology. You also provide care to patients under the supervision of faculty at our dental hygiene clinic in Portland. You may also undertake internships and other clinical experiences in schools, nursing homes, community agencies, or private practices.

You leave the program better prepared to meet the challenges of your profession, or to pursue graduate studies.

  • Faculty/student ratio in clinic is very low, providing students with ample opportunity for questions and interaction with faculty
  • Courses on local anesthesia and pain control are offered for students planning to practice in states requiring those specific skills
