Ketchum Library entrance2014–15 saw the first full year of operations in the UNE Art Gallery in the Ketchum Library. This gallery space expands and transforms the Library with a comfortable light-filled gathering space that displays diverse professional exhibitions twice a year. These exhibitions feature artistic and cultural subjects of interest to the UNE community.

The gallery also exhibits UNE’s own art collections, such as the Bernard Langlais collection of animal sculptures, historic photographs by early Maine photographer Chansonetta Stanley Emmons, (held by the Maine Women Writers Collection), as well as exhibitions by UNE students and faculty such as Professor DeWolfe’s History 290 War Letters class. Students researched, designed and installed Write Again Soon: Letters from World War II. One hundred fifty attendees celebrated the students’ opening in December.
