Shawn Peterson works with community partners to plan testing events, educates medical practices on ‘PrEP’ for HIV prevention, and assists in day-to-day activities of the health center. She has been with India Street for two years and will be discussing how staff at the health center conduct sexual history intakes and follow up.
Kimberly Meehan-Brown is passionate about her work educating individuals on prevention, transmission, and treatment of Sexually Transmitted Diseases and HIV. She has worked as a Community Health Promotion Specialist with the City of Portland’s Public Health Division for fourteen years, with close to ten of those years as a Disease Intervention Specialist on behalf of Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC). She spends most of her days working with health care providers, patients, and locating contacts for testing and treatment. You can find her every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon at India Street’s Walk-In STD Clinic.
